The 2023 SEA Games: Sepak Takraw Contributes Two Golds for Indonesia

VIVA – The Indonesian contingent managed to add a gold medal at the 2023 SEA Games, through sepak takraw in the men's double number after defeating Malaysia in the final which took place at the Olympic Stadium, Phnom Penh, on Monday.
The Indonesian Sepak Takraw team with the formation of Muhamad Hardiansyah Muliang, Saiful Rizal, and Rusdi won the rubber game over Malaysia with scores of 14-21, 21-16, and 21-13.
As for Indonesia in the men's double number sepak takraw final won gold after defeating Malaysia (Aidil Aiman Azwawi/Muhd Noraizat Nordin/Muhd Hafizul Hayazi Adna) with a final score of 21-16, 16-21, 21-13.
Indonesian Sepak Takraw National Team Coach, Tri Aji expressed his gratitude for the achievement of two golds from Sepak Takraw at the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games.
"These results are a historic moment because the achievement of two direct gold medals is the first time for Indonesia," said Tri Aji.
"This is a new history in Sepak Takraw at the SEA Games Multievent because it managed to get two golds. Last year one (gold), 2019 one (gold). I hope at the Asian Games later, sepak takraw can be better," he added.
As information, the first gold has been won by sepak takraw at the 2023 SEA Games. Coming from the men's double team number strengthened by Abdul Muin/Andi Try Sandi Saputra/Anwar Budiyanto/Diky Apriyadi/Jelki Ladada/Muh. Hardiansyah Muliang/Muhammad Hafidz/Rusdi/Syaiful Rijal against a team from Myanmar in the final round.
Furthermore, Muliang also said that he was very grateful for still having opportunity to win at the SEA Games. "Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful to Allah because we are still allowed to become champions in the men's double. We can also defend the SEA Games gold.”
