Jokowi Invites the World to Realize ASEAN as Epicentrum of Growth

VIVA – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo invites the world to collaborate to make ASEAN as the Epicentrum of growth. This was stated by him when he led the ASEAN Leaders' Interface with Representatives of the ASEAN-Business Advisory Council (BAC) meeting. 

"Let's work together to ensure this region becomes an epicentrum of growth," the President said at Meruorah Hotel, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday. 

According to President Joko Widodo, collaboration, cooperation, and synergy between the government and the business world have brought ASEAN to face the COVID-19 pandemic. 

"This is also very necessary in facing the challenges that are still very heavy, geopolitical risks are still large, and the fall of financial institutions in the United States and Europe," the President added. 

In this situation, President Widodo invited the world to strengthen collaboration to maintain ASEAN as the epicenter of growth. ASEAN has enormous potential to become the center of economic growth.

"The economic potential of our region is very large, an economy that grows above the world average, a demographic bonus, then a middle class that continues to increase by 65 percent by 2030," he explained.
