VIVA – CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team’s Miguel Oliveira is likely to return to action at this weekend’s Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, pending a medical test being passed on Thursday at the circuit.
“I’m obviously excited to start the trip to the United States (US). It was a shame for me to have missed the Argentina GP, but I’m really looking forward to start again working with the team and discovering the bike again on this track,” said Oliveira, stated from MotoGP's official site, on Tuesday.
As for, the Portuguese rider picked up tendon damage in his right leg after being collected by Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) in the early Portuguese GP incident that also involved Jorge Martin (Prima Pramac Racing) while all three riders were battling for the podium positions.
As a result, Oliveira was forced to sit out the Argentina GP after being declared unfit after the crash.
Meanwhile, Oliveira hopes he can be declared fully recovered this week. He admits that he can't wait to get back on the Aprilia RS-GP and race with his competitors on the Circuit of the Americas track this weekend.
“It has not been an easy track for me in the past, so I hope that this year I can start turning things around and start the weekend strong. To score points in both the Sprint and the main race would be really nice and of course important after not being able to do anything the last three opportunities basically. So, overall, I’m very excited.” he stated.
Meanwhile, the Austin MotoGP will roll out from April 14 to 16. In Indonesia, the Sprint race will be available to watch on Sunday, at 3 am in Western Indonesian Time, while the main race can be watched on Monday, at 2 am local time.
