VIVA – The Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) reveals the possibility of building a railway line in the National Capital City (IKN) Nusantara.

Director of Railway Traffic and Transportation of the DJKA of the Ministry of Transportation, Djarot Tri Wardhono explained that currently, his party is still conducting a feasibility study related to the plan while looking at the possibility of existing traces around the IKN area.

"While this is still feasibility study right to see the existing route," Wardhono stated on Thursday at the Ministry of Transportation Office, Jakarta.

Therefore, Wardhono admitted that to talk about the cost and budget of train construction in IKN Nusantara, cannot be known at this time. This is because the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) is still being worked on, so the detailed cost calculation cannot be done yet.

"Regarding the cost, it is still being calculated. If it has entered the Detailed Engineering Design, the detailed costs will be known. Because with the DED, the strengthening of different landlines will provide more tiered costs," he explained.

It is known that during his recent working visit to Japan, the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, invited business people in Japan to work together to build transportation infrastructure in IKN. The Minister of Transportation also invited them to visit IKN directly, to see the various opportunities that can be cooperated in the area.

He also revealed several transportation infrastructures that will be built in IKN. For example, in the land sector, a mass public transportation system will be built in the form of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and autonomous minibusses.

Then in the railway sector, a Sepinggan airport train will be built from Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Karang Joang to IKN, along 47 km with a travel time of about 30 minutes. Then in the air transportation sector, IKN VVIP Airport will be built which will be used to receive state guests and government activities.
