VIVA – The national working meeting (Rakernas) of the Indonesian Swimming Association (PRSI) was attended by 31 provincial committees and talked about PRSI’s preparation for various competitions in 2023.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno when opening the Rakernas which was held at the Aryaduta Hotel, Jakarta, on Sunday night.

The opening of the meeting was also attended by the Chairman of the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Marciano Norman, representatives of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) Arlan, and PB PRSI Chairman, Anindya Novyan Bakrie.

“Congratulations to Mr. Anindya and his staff at PRSI. Together with the government, we are ready to collaborate and this meeting can produce innovation formulations and improve achievements. I also hope that there will be an increase in sports tourism so that aquatics can become an attraction in Indonesian tourist destinations. Hopefully, it can generate sports-based tourism," Sandiaga Uno said.

Meanwhile, with the theme "Recover faster, rise stronger, towards aquatic achievements," Anindya Bakrie explained the preparation for the 2023 agenda which is quite busy.

The competition agendas include the Cambodia SEA Games on May 5-17, 2023, the Hangzhou Asian Games in September 2023, the ANOC World Beach Games Bali 5-12 in August 2023, as well as hosting the SEA Age Group Swimming Championship in Jakarta.

PRSI has also built an android-based management information system, where in the future all data on athletes, officials, and other data can be accessed via smartphone. The e-swim application is quite complete with data on athletes, teams, coaches, referees, and swimming pools," said Anindya Bakrie.

Anindya Bakrie also explained, in 2022, the World Swimming Federation, or FINA has also changed its name to World Aquatic.

"This certainly also inspires other countries to change their names. Also, hopefully, this national working meeting can be a guideline. Because aquatics is not only swimming but there are other sports such as water polo, beautiful jumping, artistic swimming, and open water swimming," said Anindya.
