The Truth of Strange Animal Appear in Israel as Doomsday Sign

VIVA – Recently, social media users were shocked by a strange animal that appears in Israel. This incident is thought to be a sign that doomsday is getting closer to the world. Many people think this animal is known as Dabbah.

There is a photo upload that claims Dabbah appeared in Israel through a post on one of the Facebook accounts "Dabbah Has Appeared In Israel, Message Beast Signs Of Doomsday. May we be protected by Allah. Aminn," wrote the post. 

The video is called 'The Mexican Mole Lizard - Animal of the Week' by Ben G Thomas. The animal is the Mexican Mole Lizard, a legless lizard.

The Mexican Mole Lizard has the scientific name Bipes Biporus and its habitat is in the water. According to the National Geographic report, Bipes biporus is often found in the Baja California region of the Mexican Peninsula.

Legless lizards are usually underground, and rarely seen on the surface. Its length reaches 25 cm. It can be concluded that the photo circulating isn’t Dabbah. The narrative can be called misleading because it does not match the truth.

In Islam, Dabbah is believed to be one of the comings of doomsday or doomsday qubro. The presence of Dabbah as a sign of doomsday is reported in one of the hadith narrations told by Abdullah bin Amr.

"Indeed, the first sign that appears (before the doomsday) is the rising of the sun from the West and the appearance of a creeping animal (Dabbah) to meet humans at Dhuha. Whichever of the two occurs first, the other will soon follow." (HR Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah).

While the characteristics of Dabbah in Islamic teachings include a kind of creeping animal, hairy animals, and four legs, and are said by Ibn Abbas, one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, as an animal with a human face.
