Jokowi-Malaysian PM Discuss IKN Investment at Bogor Palace

VIVA – The Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, discusses economic cooperation in the form of investment in the IKN Nusnatara with the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Yang Mulia Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The talks will be held at the Bogor Palace.
Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono together with Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato' Seri Diraja Zambry Abdul Kadir have welcomed the arrival of Malaysian Prime Minister Yang Mulia Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Hajjah Wan Azizah Wan Ismail at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Cengkareng, Banten last night.
Malaysian PM YM Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was just sworn in November 2022, is making his first bilateral visit to Indonesia on January 8 to 9, 2022. The visit was at the invitation by President Joko Widodo.
Ministry of PUPR spokesperson, Endra S Atmawidjaja said that the bilateral meeting between the Malaysian PM and President Jokowi will discuss the progress of bilateral cooperation, explore the potential for new cooperation and promote joint efforts to overcome regional and global challenges.
In addition, Endra said that one of the important issues to be discussed is Malaysia's economic cooperation and investment in the IKN Nusantara.
Endra added that on November 30, 2022, Minister Basuki together with the IKN Authority, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, and the Board of Directors of BUMN conducted a working visit to promote investment opportunities in IKN.
The investment forum attracted more than 200 participants from various types of industries and businesses, such as construction, property, telecommunications, and renewable energy to startups.
"Hopefully we can get more concrete results for the development of IKN from the results of the meeting of the two state leaders, Indonesia and Malaysia," Endra said on Monday, January 9, 2023.
