Two Teams Eliminated from the 2022 AFF Championship

VIVA – Here is a list of teams eliminated in the group phase of the 2022 AFF Championship until Monday, December 26, 2022. From Group A there is Brunei Darussalam. The certainty of failure was obtained by Brunei after experiencing three consecutive defeats.

Most recently, Brunei Darussalam surrendered seven goals without a reply to Indonesia on December 26, 2022. Previously, the Tebuan Team had lost against Thailand with a score of 0-5, and 1-5 with the Philippines.

Because of the defeat, Brunei Darussalam got zero points from the three matches.

The same situation was experienced by Laos in Group B. The team with the nickname of the Million Elephants has also received three defeats, respectively 0-6 from Vietnam, 0-5 from Malaysia, and 0-2 from Singapore. The meeting against Myanmar in the last match did not mean much.

Furthermore, Laos has conceded 13 times without ever scoring, while Brunei has netted one goal, but conceded 17 times.

In the 2022 AFF Cup, two groups will compete for 4 tickets to the semifinals. Each group will qualify for two teams. The group champion meets the runner-up in a different group.
