Joko Widodo Attends 2022 Asean Summit, Departs to Cambodia Today

VIVA – This evening, President Joko Widodo is scheduled to depart for Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Jokowi is planned to depart directly from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on November 9, 2022, at 5 PM.
His departure to Cambodia today is to attend the ASEAN Summit 2022. Joko Widodo immediately left for Phnom Penh, Cambodia after ensuring preparations for the G20 Summit in Bali.
"Yes, it is true (Jokowi to Cambodia to attend the ASEAN Summit)," Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin told the media crew through the text message, Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
Bey Machmudin said that when the ASEAN Summit agenda in Phnom Penh finish. Jokowi does not immediately return to Jakarta. From Cambodia, President Jokowi flew directly to Bali to attend the G20 Summit on November 15 to 16, 2022.
"Yes (President Jokowi in Cambodia until November 13) and directly to Bali again," Bey Machmudin remarked.
The ASEAN Summit will be attended by several leaders of ASEAN countries. In addition, several leaders of ASEAN partner countries are also planning to attend the summit, including Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, US President Joe Biden, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The summit will also be attended by United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. The 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and related summits will be preceded by a High-Level Officials Meeting (SOM) today.
Then on Thursday, November 10, 2022, there is the 25th ASEAN Political-Security Community (APSC) Council Meeting, ASEAN Leaders' Interface with Representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA). The next day on Friday, November 11, 2022, leaders including President Jokowi will attend the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Summit.
The program on that day will be followed by high-level meetings between ASEAN and its partners, namely the ASEAN-China Summit, the ASEAN-India Summit, and the ASEAN-UN Summit. Furthermore, on Saturday, November 12, 2022, the leaders of ASEAN member states and partner countries will hold several other meetings, namely the ASEAN Plus Three Summit, ASEAN-India Summit, ASEAN-Australia Summit, ASEAN-Japan Summit, ASEAN-United States Summit, and ASEAN-Canada Summit.
After that, on Sunday, November 13, 2022, there will be the East Asia Summit and the closing ceremony of the 40th and 41st ASEAN summits as well as the handover of ASEAN chairmanship to Indonesia.
