The Complete List of Ballon d'Or 2022 Award Winners

VIVA – The Ballon d'Or 2022 awards for all categories have been completed on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the Theater du Chatelet Paris. There were seven categories in this award. One additional new category is the Socrates Award.
The Socrates Award is given to footballers who are active in social and humanitarian fields. Senegal national team player, Sadio Mane was selected as the winner of the Socrates Award. Sadio Mane is known to be active in humanitarian activities in his home country.
While the receiver of the Ballon d'Or 2022 award is Karim Benzema. The Real Madrid striker beat Sadio Mane and Kevin De Bruyne who filled the top list.
For the women's Ballon d'Or, Barcelona's Alexia Putellas won this award. This victory is the second time.
Meanwhile, for the Best Young Player or Under-21 Player of the Year category, the winner of the Kopa Trophy was won by Barcelona's Gavi. Gavi beat Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga and Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala.
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski wins the Gerd Mueller Trophy. This is the category for the best striker throughout 2021/2022. His amazing performances while still in Bayern Munich uniform earned this award.
Furthermore, there was the Yashin Trophy award for the Best Goalkeeper category which was won by a Goalkeeper from Real Madrid, Thibaut Courtois. Courtois is ahead of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker who is second. In third place is Manchester City's mainstay, namely Ederson.
Furthermore, Manchester City won awards and was named Club of the Year. The reigning Premier League champions beat two 2021/2022 Champions League finalists, Liverpool, and Real Madrid.
Club of the Year is awarded to the club that has the most players on the nomination list. For this year, Manchester City put six players total Ballon d’Or finalists named.
From the Ballon d'Or category, there are five ManCity players on the nomination list. They are Kevin De Bruyne, Riyad Mahre, Ederson Moraes, Phil Foden, Joao Cancelo, and Bernardo Silva.
From the women's Ballon d'Or there is also a ManCity player, namely Lucy Bronze. Then, Ederson was in the Yashin Trophy category.
