VIVA – The Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi, said the G20 Summit meeting is not easy because of a world crisis. The world is experiencing multiple crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine and Russia wars, political conflicts, food crisis, and others.
"As happened at the ministerial-level G20 meeting, and even at other multilateral meetings it will be full of dynamics and bound to happen," Retno Marsudi stated in a press conference via zoom meeting, Thursday, October 13, 2022.
According to Retno Marsudi, in a condition without conflict, the G20 meeting is still considered not easy. Especially in a world where there are a lot of conflicts. Therefore, if one country or another has a different position, it can be considered reasonable.
However, it should be underlined that even though the G20 Summit will be difficult, Indonesia as the G20 Presidency is committed not to ruining the entire meeting and thinking hard to finding a joint solution for the world.
“The G20 must not fail because the results of its work are awaited by the world. The G20 is still one of the economic forums that work to respond to the global crisis in the world, the stakes of which are too big, namely the welfare of billions of people, especially in developing countries," Retno Marsudi explained.
To make the G20 Summit a success and resolve the existing crisis, Retno Marsudi invited the G20 member countries to show their responsibilities to the world.
"If we want to be called a big country, then the responsibility is also big, and the responsibility must be carried out properly. We also continue to convey to the G20 member countries regarding the commitment of Indonesia," Minister Retno Marsudi said.
