VIVA – The Bali Provincial Government says that the Balinese people are enthusiastic and ready to support the holding of the G20 Summit which will take place in Nusa Dua, Badung, on November 15 to 16, 2022.

Head of the Bali Province Communication, Information and Statistics Agency, Gede Pramana on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, said the community has received positive impacts from various G20 activities whose series has been ongoing since the end of last year so that the peak event is expected to be a momentum for Bali's revival. Previously, Bali had slumped down during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

"People are very enthusiastic about welcoming guests, making the event a success, and even taking advantage of the opportunities created by international events, especially the G20 Summit," Gede Pramana answered journalists' questions during a press conference.

He is optimistic that Bali's economy can recover faster with the holding of the G20 Summit because it will bring thousands of foreign delegates to Dewata Island. According to Gede, the arrival of foreign delegates gave a positive signal for the tourism and hospitality industry in Bali.

“The main supporter of Bali's economy is tourism. So, the G20 Presidency of Indonesia is increasingly opening up and giving people optimism to re-spur their economic movements after the COVID-19 pandemic," Gede Pramana explained.

Therefore, he believes that the Balinese people will work together to show a positive, friendly, and safe image of Bali to foreign delegates, who represent G20 member countries.

"The hope is that tourism will grow again which will have an impact on economic movements, not only the region but also the individual community," Gede Pramana remarked.

On a different occasion, the Chair of the Bali Tourism Board, Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana, assessed that Indonesia's leadership or presidency at the G20 builds optimism for business players in the Bali tourism sector, especially during the recovery period after being affected by the pandemic.

"Along with the improvement in the handling of COVID-19, this event makes tourist visits happen again. We get blessings. It is evident now that hotels are experiencing an increase in visits. It can even be said to be normal," Ida Bagus Agung Partha Adnyana said in a written broadcast received in Denpasar.

Not only that, but Ida Bagus also conveyed that there were various G20 events in Bali, the culmination of which was the G20/G20 Bali Summit, encouraging various infrastructure developments on the Dewata Island.

"Several developments were carried out, especially when the Presidency started. This had an impact on us as well," Ida Bagus remarked.
