Five Countries that Queen Elizabeth II Has Never Visited

VIVA – Queen Elizabeth II as the longest-serving holder of the British throne died on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96 at Balmoral Castle, Scotland. During her reign, Queen Elizabeth II has been recorded as traveling to several countries in the world.

The Queen has even visited countries that have never been visited by the leadership of the British Empire. As well as visits to China in 1986 and Russia in 1994, making Queen Elizabeth II the first British leader to visit the two countries.

It turns out that there are several countries that Queen Elizabeth II has never visited, such as the following:

1. Israel

Prince William became the first member of the British royal family to travel to Israel in early 2018. As it turned out, Queen Elizabeth had never been to the country during her reign.

Other news mentions that the reason the queen did not visit Israel is the politics between Israel and the Palestinian authorities that never ends.

2. Argentina

In Latin America, the Queen visited several countries, such as Brazil and Chile in 1968. However, she has never set foot in Argentina due to political history.

According to the foreign affairs section of the Times Michael Binyon, this is because of the Falklands War factor.

In 1982, Argentina invaded British territory in the Falklands Islands to seize territory. It turns out that there is a very basic reason why Queen Elizabeth II is reluctant to visit these countries.

As quoted from the BBC, Elizabeth had been to Greece with Prince Philip, but at that time she had not yet become Queen of England.

Greece has a close relationship with Prince Philip. As a baby, Prince Philip and some of his family fled Greece, as other members of the family had been executed with horrific punishments. Allegedly, for this reason, Queen Elizabeth II never like Greece.

Cuba city has never been visited by Queen Elizabeth II because several travel restrictions are intended for those from the west. That this country has a fairly high crime rate, to avoid it, the queen did not visit this country. 

The Queen has visited many countries around the world both in the Commonwealth and beyond. Bhutan was one of the few destinations he had yet to visit. Prince William and Kate Middleton visited during their tour of India in 2016 but did not visit Bhutan either.
