VIVA – Jabal Rahmah is a granite rocky hill located east of the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Jabal Rahmah is part of Mount Arafat. Jabal Rahmah is not just a rectangular concrete monument as high as 8 meters. However, Jabal Rahmah is the place of three extraordinary events of the Prophet.

According to history, Jabal Rahmah is the place where the Prophet Muhammad SAW once gave a da'wah that explained the perfection of religion to all Muslims who performed the Hajj with him before his death.

Next, there was the story of the Prophet Adam AS. After the Prophet Adam AS and Siti Hawa were sent down to Earth by Allah SWT, they were separated for 500 years. Then, Jabal Rahmah became the meeting place between Prophet Adam AS and Siti Eve for the first time on earth.

Jabal Arafah is also the place where Prophet Ibrahim once dreamed of being ordered to sacrifice and slaughter his son, Prophet Ismail.

For now, Jabal Rahmah is a place commonly visited by pilgrims who perform Wukuf (a part of the pilgrimage) in Arafah to pray and ask forgiveness from Allah SWT.

Jabal Rahmah usually starts to be crowded by thousands of pilgrims from various countries at dawn.

A number of pilgrims chose to stay at the top of Jabal Rahmah. Some of them spent time reading the Al Quran, praying solemnly, and praying while crying in the midst of the crowds that filled Jabal Rahmah.

Some Saudi Arabian security officers were deployed to guard there. Several times the officers had to reprimand the congregants who did excessive things there, such as wailing while patting the monument.

Thousands of worshipers continued to arrive in waves as the sun began to rise. Thousands of these congregations continued to crowd Jabal Rahmah until the time of Wukuf finished on Maghrib 9 Dzulhijjah.
