VIVA – The twin mountains of Sindoro-sumbing are endlessly making anyone feel amazed every cross the Temanggung and Wonosobo routes, Central Java. One of the beauties of the place in the Sindoro-Sumbing mountain area is the Posong Valley.

The route to the Posong Valley is through the city of Semarang via the Ngaliyan-Mijen-Bola-Sukorejo route to Tlahab Village, Kledung District, Temanggung Regency. Posong's location is at the foot of Mount Sindoro, so no wonder if the air temperature here is quite cold, around 10-19 degrees Celsius.

Posong has a truly amazing charm. The panorama offered is that the peaks of eight mountains in Central Java can be seen clearly from Posong if the weather conditions are clear.

Posong is also a destination for tourists who like to hunt for milky way photos while waiting for the sunrise. Because, the location of Posong which is at an altitude 1,000 mean sea level.

The Posong Valley is located on the back of the southeast side of Mount Sindoro. So, from here you can clearly see Mount Sumbing in front of him.

To enjoy the beauty of Posong valley tourism, visitors need to pay an entrance ticket of Rp20,000/person. Rp10,000 for car parking, and Rp5,000 for motorbike parking. From the entrance counter in the village, the journey continues along a concrete road through vegetable gardens and pine forests.

This Posong Valley Tour is open every day, starting at 3 am for visitors who want to hunting for the sunrise. While the last visiting hours are limited to 4 pm.

Sunrise Posong is one of the favoritest time in Central Java along with Sikunir Wonosobo, Kaliangkrik Magelang.

The advantage of Posong is that it is not so far from the main road of Temanggung. Only about 3-kilometers with a partially paved and concrete road.

The panoramic sunrise that can be seen from Posong is indeed extraordinary. Posong is a combination of golden sunrise and silver sunrise. Because, when the sun starts to rise, the silvery sky becomes a beautiful sight with the combination of blue mountains.

In certain situations, visitors will be completely surrounded by clouds because at the back there is also a mist that comes down from Mount Sindoro.

"Yes, that's the advantage here. The sun's bias combines with the dark blue sky, as well as the mountains that slowly change from dark to blue," explained Sofianto, a member of the Tlahab Village Pokdarwis when talking with VIVA at one of the viewing posts recently.

“Over time, by word of mouth, many came here just to play and watch the sun rise. Then the residents here make Pokdarwis and manage it as a tourist spot,” added Sofianto.

In its development, the local government then built this area into an integrated tourist spot. These include increasing viewing posts, culinary centers, playgrounds, and souvenir centers.
