VIVA – Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry or known as KADIN, Anindya Bakrie held a meeting with the Founder of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk at GigaFactory Texas, United Statest, yesterday.

Anindya and the Indonesian Ambassador for US, Rosan Roeslani, accompanied the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan were there to negotiate with Musk.

They met to discuss about investment in electric vehicle batteries, to support the program to accelerate the implementation of vehicle electrification in the Republic of Indonesia.

Rosan who was once the Chairman of KADIN, said that the government discussed with stakeholders in the US to invite the involvement of G20 member countries to switch to a greener industry.

A number of countries that have participated in the G20 include the United States of America, the United States of America, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, India, Britain, Italy and Japan.

"During our visit, we were received directly by Elon Musk to talk about investing in the EV battery sector," Rosan wrote on his personal Instagram account.

Furthermore, they discussed the dependence of the industry, especially automotive on fossil fuels. This is a new challenge for the future to be more environmentally friendly in the use of fuel.

"However, this requires a shift to hydro and solar power and investment in green smelting technologies to produce low-carbon and green aluminum products," he added.
