Heavy Rain Hits Jakarta, 2 Cars Damaged by Falling Trees

However, BMKG also didn’t forget to give early warnings to the public about the possibility of rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in several areas of Jakarta.

"Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in West Jakarta, East Jakarta and South Jakarta in the afternoon and evening," BMKG wrote on their website.

As for the full details of the weather forecast in the capital city on Friday. In the morning the entire area of ??Jakarta and the Thousand Islands is expected to be covered with clear and cloudy skies.

Then on Friday afternoon, rain with moderate intensity is expected to fall in the South Jakarta area. Meanwhile, West Jakarta and East Jakarta will experience light rain.

Meanwhile, since Friday afternoon, according to a report from the Instagram account @jktinfo, it said that several areas in Jakarta, specifically in the Cilandak area and its surroundings have been shrouded in dark clouds coupled with lightning and strong winds.

Fallen Tree Incident

Rain accompanied by strong winds this afternoon that hit the South Jakarta area caused a tree to fall and hit two cars in that location, as compiled from the Instagram account @jktinfo. This fallen tree incident occurred on Jl. Fatmawati Hospital, Cilandak, South Jakarta at around 13.20 WIB.

As a result of the incident, two cars and nine firefighters were dispatched to the scene to deal with the fallen tree. The two cars that were hit by the tree had license plates B-2705-SFI and B-2217-SRZ. Fortunately, there were no fatalities in this incident and the handling was completed at 13.50 WIB.
